The chapter and chorus meet  every Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church Activity Center
on the corner of Poyntz and  6th Street, Manhattan, Kansas.

First and foremost, we need to keep on schedule for learning our music.  Learning notes and words is just about the second or third step in a 10 step process.  We can progress with our music once we are no longer relying on the printed page.  Hopefully you all picked up your learning CD’s.  This will help you tremendously in learning the notes and words.  Then, we can really start to make some progress!

Secondly, we need to start thinking about our costumes.  The ladies are going to help us again this year.  “Help” doesn’t mean that they will find or make our costumes, but will help us with ideas, and maybe with some ideas on where to find what we need.  The ladies are going to meet again on February 7th to stuff candy bags.  A few of the ladies will also have a list of what costumes we want to see on the stage.  Hopefully they will have time to show you the list and you can sign up for one of them.  Thank you

to the following ladies who will help us with tracking costumes this year:

Tenors Joan Thomson

Leads Karen Nanninga and Telva Swenson

Baritones Carolyn Dreiling

Basses  Helen Cooper and Pat Schlender

It was reported at the Board meeting last evening that 36 guys had signed up to help prepare for the show in some way (and some of you are doing two or three (or more) jobs!)  Thirty-six is great!...only about 20 short of what we need to be really effective.  It is not too late to volunteer to help!  Please tell Jim Lindquist this coming Thursday evening that you want to help!

I was wonderful to have so many singers as we had last Thursday evening!  When we have this kind of attendance, Ken only has to give us his guidance on particular items only once!  Hope to see all of you next Thursday evening , and the next…and the next!

Remember to stay on your learning schedule!♪
