I have received after action reports from most of the show committee chairs. The Chairs have documented what worked well and have offered suggestions for changes to improve the process next year. I will incorporate those suggestions as I organize the administrative team for next year's show. Attendance at this year's show was 1,098, which was up by more than 10% from last year. The increase was distributed about evenly between the afternoon and evening shows. It will be a couple of weeks before I get the bill from McCain and I am also waiting on a count of the vouchers that were turned in. The voucher idea worked well and I will plan to use this process again in 2009. I don't have the number of tickets sold by chorus members as of this evening, but I think we need to try to sell more tickets and perhaps we can push the Web site more for advance sales next year. We don't know yet whether the show was a financial success, but we know that it was enjoyed by our audience. I have heard many compliments on our singing, Don Thomson once again produced a very entertaining show, Ken prepared us well, and our guest quartet was great. I have also heard many positive comments about the Dixieland Band.♪ |

I received an email from a friend who attended the show. Her email stated “We really enjoyed the program last night. Wonderful music and voices and so much fun. “ This was the first barbershop show she and her husband have ever attended. They plan to attend next years show. Good Job, Guys! Janet Kiser
I thought the show was excellent. I had never been to one of the chorus’s performances before other than when a quartet visited our church and I received a singing valentine. The variety of different acts was really nice and I had many people comment on how well they sounded. Involving the children in the program was appreciated because it showcased the talents of the young entertainers in our community. Everyone that I talked to had nothing but praise for the show. Kathy Thompson What a great show our Barbershoppers gave for us this year! I had an interesting group sitting two rows behind Scott and I. It was the parents of the Bergman chorus. They cheered and clapped and had a great time. I heard one mother say, "I have never come to one of these concerts before. This is great!" Pat Schlender
As always the Little Apple Chorus show is wonderful. I have heard many remarks that this year’s show was the best. It is always good to hear the guys sing and I believe that by singing and rehearsing more, that the chorus is sounding very good. Keep up the good work guys. Your ladies are willing and glad to help you in any way. Telva Swenson I really liked the interaction of the students and the chorus. Since I was sitting in the last row I was able to hear the reaction of the audience. They seemed to really like Reveille and the Late Night Edition. The very best part was the chorus in their new purple vests who sounded great and really looked super!!" Connie Lee |
