Pat Caffey presented the annual Barbershop Of The Year (BOTY) award to Bart Bartholomew, for his years of service with the newsletter, and a variety of special technological tricks. This past year we profited from his excellent recordings of DVDs of rehearsals. As a side note, Pat emphasized that Karen Nanninga got some write-in votes for the BOTY award, but cannot receive it, as she is a non-member who does a lot of work for us. Karen has gained top awards at CSD and International levels for her production of our newsletter, the InCider. How appropriate it is to honor both of these persons.♪ |

Santa Claus squeezed an important event into his busy schedule on Saturday, 12 December 2009, when he married Dave Fink and Connie Lee. Santa (none other than our very own Judge Pat Caffey) had just finished his traditional Santa duties at the Hey Baby children's’ variety store when what to our wondering eyes should appear but Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving at the residence of Connie and Dave. Judge Santa informed Connie and Dave that he had received a letter requesting that he officiate at their wedding. Dave acknowledged that he had sent the letter, Connie couldn’t think of a reason to not tie the knot and Santa obliged. After a brief ceremony before family members and a few friends, Santa (Judge) Caffey pronounced them husband and wife. The wedding party celebrated the occasion by sharing lunch with the newlyweds at Famous Dave’s (not Fink) Barbecue. After dinner Connie rushed home to begin making table decorations for the Little Apple Chorus Installation Banquet and Dave began pondering on how he could possibly fulfill the awesome responsibilities of husband concurrent with the duties of the Chapter’s Vice President for Chapter Development and Membership. We wish both of them much success in all their husband, wife and barbershop duties and responsibilities. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Fink! ♪ |

Thank you for once again bestowing upon me what I consider to be the greatest honor that can be given to a member of a barbershop chapter. I am deeply moved by your confidence in me and by the fact that the members of the chorus are appreciative of the benefits that the use of computer and audio-visual technology provide to the overall success of the chorus. I promise to uphold the standards that are expected from a BOTY recipient and provide even better technological support to the chapter in the future. Thanks again for the honor.♪ |
