   Singing a part alone can freak a guy out, right?  Singing in a section of a dozen guys can let us hide our errors.  So - why not try a practice group with at least two on each part to make it easier to gain good skills?  Why not a double quartet?  QtX2.

   My first attempt months ago to get a practice quartet together to work on chorus songs, Polecat songs, etc. didn't work out well.  We scheduled our practice time for one-half hour before the weekly chorus rehearsal, and seldom had all four guys available at the same time. Besides, we had very little time to work when we all showed up.

   Later, some guys who showed up before rehearsal joined me to do some work on

Polecat songs, but we had no organization.  I finally decided  that two guys on each part would avoid much of the hesitancy on our  part to singing a part alone, and that longer rehearsals could help speed things up.

   So a few of us shopped around for some guys who wanted to join us in a double quartet.  As we added guys we firmed up Sunday afternoons as the only time during the week that we had a chance to get everyone together for three-hour rehearsals.

   Everyone enjoyed the business of working with two singers per part, working for a longer session, and eventually determined the membership of two quartets.  Geography played a
