Here is a copy of the letter sent to Clark Caldwell with our 2009 contributions.

It has been a good year for the Manhattan Kansas Chapter.  Enclosed is our check for $3,000.00 as a contribution to the great work you and your staff are doing.  Several of us are looking forward to the upcoming youth chorus festival, and hope this will help in bringing more singers to this event.

Also enclosed are individual contributions totaling $369.00 which are the result of our chapter officers making general appeals to the membership for additional contributions beyond the chapter’s contribution.

The envelope enclosed is from one of our chapter quartets, Manhattan Music Machine, which signifies $50.00 per member in giving to your organization for the 2009 year.

We hope this total of $3,569.00 will help you continue your great work in bringing music experiences to more and more young people during 2010.  Keep up your good work .♪

Barbershop Singers,

Hey guys, it is the Brazilian kid here :=D.  I just want to say thank you for introducing me to this life.  The Barbershop.  You guys showed me a completely different life.  Your songs are awesome.  I love it.  And you can be sure that I’m taking some barbershop songs to Brazil.  Let’s take some good songs to that country. Thanks for everything.  Have a good 2010 with all love and joyfulness.

A message from Lucas

One of many snowdrifts near the Nanninga’s

Since the last newsletter we have been drifted in three different times.  Up north there was certainly more snow than in Manhattan.  Poor Terry Smith has been very busy opening roads in our area,  He works for the state highway dept.  The picture above give a small sample of what we have been dealing with.  I have had fun playing in it but I feel sorry for those who have to work out in it during the bitter cold.

It is time to get ready for those wonderful singing valentines.  I heard some of the quartets are working on it and the ladies are going to meet to fix the candy bags on February 4th.  Hope to see you there.

Below is a message from our exchange student.  I left it in his English style.  We are missing him.♪
