As the Manhattan Chapter moves deeper into the preparation cycle for its annual show, I continue to be impressed with the willingness of Chapter members to step up and do whatever is necessary. For those who might not know, Don Thomson and his creative committee started planning this year’s show long before we presented last year’s successful show. We are blessed as a Chapter to have creative people who are willing to lend their talent and many hours of planning and hard work to make our annual show the huge musical/entertainment success it has been for many years. And we are fortunate to have a Director who can professionally take the creative plan and bring it to life on stage. But, my accolades can’t stop there—we have many people working behind the scenes to organize and orchestrate the ad sales campaign (Mark Robb, John Desper, Pete Cooper) along with the ticket sales campaign (Loren Alexander, Steve Fisher). In addition we have the group which puts together a professional program under the leadership of Gary Mott. We also have a props creation and setup group under the leadership of Pat Caffey; which brings credibility to the stage and enhances our musical presentation. VP of Marketing and PR; John Thomason does a fantastic job of “spreading the news,” alerting the public that another great Little Apple Chorus and Quartet show is coming to Manhattan. Jim Lindquist and Steve Cross as Show Chairmen have done and continue to do a great job of making everything work in concert. And, of course, we couldn’t do the show without every chorus and quartet member honing his skills to the finest possible performance level. Unfortunately, I have probably missed something or someone in this attempt to recognize the great teamwork we have in our Chapter. I apologize for those possible omissions. But, suffice it to say that I am proud to be a member of this great organization, and as your President, I am eternally grateful for the work each and every member does as we strive to perpetuate Great Barbershop Harmony throughout our geographical region.♪ |

"Dress Rehearsal" will be on April 1st. Everyone is to wear their western costume on that evening. Also, that evening's rehearsal will be in the basement of the Methodist Church, across from the Harris Center where we usually rehearse The costume for the second half of the show will be Tux, white shirt (w/long collar), purple vest and long, purple tie...just like last year. |
